How I Use Slideshows in Aperture 3

by Mike on March 30, 2011

A reader just emailed me and asked me whether I like using Aperture 3 to build slideshows.

The answer is, after a few trials, I stopped using Aperture 3 for slideshows. My Macbook runs Aperture just fine, but it is horrendously slow when it comes to rendering and editing slideshows.

So here’s what I do when I want to make a slideshow:

1) In Aperture 3, I select all the photos I want for my slideshow

2) I export those photos at a reduced size to a new folder

3) I open up iMovie and build the slideshow there

Remember, Aperture 3’s slideshow function is pretty close to iMovie’s, if not the same. iMovie just does it a heck of a lot faster and more efficiently for me.
