Friday Deals

Amazon is offering about 20% off on the popular Panasonic GF1 micro 4/3 camera with 20mm (40mm equivalent) f/1.7 lens, pricing it at just $739. That’s not a bad deal at all considering that the 20mm lens costs almost $400 on its own!

The GF1 with the 20mm lens is the ultimate street-photography combo for those who can’t afford a Leica. The GF1 has great autofocus, and the 20mm lens (again, 40mm equivalent in 35mm camera terms) is a perfect focal length for all-purpose photography.

Book of the day: Annie Leibovitz At Work

Have you been following the case of Ansel Adams’ supposed lost negatives? Who cares if they’re real or not? We already have plenty of great work from the master.

Macmall is running great deals on Apple’s brand-new iMacs, and they’re also giving $200 or more off last-year’s models, which are excellent machines for photo editing.

Amazon is also running a great special on last year’s entry-level Apple iMac, which runs Aperture great.
